Jungutbatu

Jungutbatu Village in Nusa Lembongan , Klungkung regency, Bali, is part of Nusa Penida area that has been designated as a tourist area. This area is also the location of cultivation of red algae Eucheuma denticulatum and Kappaphycus alvarezii, which is a successful example that marine aquaculture has been free of natural harvesting. To determine the form of seaweed farming development in the coastal resorts Jungutbatu Village, has done research in 1999. Primary data obtained from questionnaires, interviews and observation. The main attraction for tourists is the area the surf, coral reefs, beaches, sea and landscapes, as well as the main tourist activity is snorkelling, swimming, walking, sunbathing and surfing, shows that tourism in Jungutbatu is a nature-based tourism beach. The main tourist dissatisfaction over the environmental aspects is the question of beach cleanliness; expressed dirty beaches, beach conditions make it uncomfortable, and needed a better waste management. Most of the tourists stated that beach tourism has negative environmental impact on coastal ecosystems, so that the necessary planning and better management of tourism and some income from tourism should be used for environmental maintenance. Farmers now feel the decline in seaweed production, which presumably related to land degradation, among others due to interference from human activities in coastal areas. Daily growth rate (LPH) seaweed in a location near the center of the village and tourist activity is lower than the LPH seaweed in a location away from residential and tourist activities. Proposed an integrated environmental management efforts seaweed cultivation region and community-based coastal tourism Jungutbatu Village.
