Besakih Temple



Besakih Temple is a complex of temples located in Besakih village, Rendang district of Karangasem regency, Bali, Indonesia. The complex consists of a Besakih Temple there are a Center Temple(Penataran Agung Besakih) and 18 Assistance (1 Temple Basukian and 17 Other). At Temple Basukian, this is the first time in the area where the receipt of God's revelation by Hyang Markendya Rsi, the precursor of Hinduism Dharma now in Bali, as its center. Besakih Temple is the center of activities of all existing temples in Bali. Among all pretend that is included in the Besakih temple complex, is the temple Agung Penataran the largest, most buildings "pelinggihnya", most types "upakaranya" and is the center and all the temples in Besakih complex. In Penataran Great statue or temple there are 3 main symbol of God's nature Stana Tri Murti, namely Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, which is a symbol of God the Creator, Preserver and Dewa Dewa fuser / Reincarnation. Besakih Temple has been nominated to become one of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The physical presence of buildings Pura Besakih, not just a place of God, according to Hindu Dharma Religious belief, the largest on the island of Bali, but it has a background connection with the meaning of Mount Agung. A highest mountain on the island of Bali is believed to be the center of the Natural Governing Spirits, Nature of the Gods, who became the messenger of God to the island of Bali and surrounding areas. So it is fitting that on the slopes of Mount Agung Southwest created a building for the sanctity of humanity, Pura Besakih meaningful philosophical.
